Anybody remember this thread?
Anyway, I got admin permission to start this thread but if I heard any drama going around I WILL request a lock so please don't whine that you're not in any of the dream castlists... it just means you need to get your name out there more so AUDITION :D!

Anyway. In this thread you create a... well, a dream castlist.
It's like you're starting an imaginary project and you're able to scout ANYONE for it. Here's an example from me:

Well, there's a BIG radioplay project I've been planning to do one of these days. It's an original story of mine called MOCHIRON! and is accompanied by a mini-series called Mahou MOCHIRON!: Magical Mochiron Adventures(In much the same way that Fumoffu is with FMP.)
A dream castlist for that is as follows!

Jaela: Jaela(Obviously. She's the character based on myself. XD)\
Misaki: Aurianna (I think she'd be a good Misaki.)
Gwen: Chiaki(A character based on an old friend of mine, I think Chiaki could pull it off.)
Melodi: My IRL friend Josie. Or if it was someone here on the VAA, I'd say Ketite.
Katsuya: Masako-kun. (Perfect for Katsu, really! ^.^)
Demi-chan: KitsuneSqueak. (Demi-chan is a kitten that just basically says stuff like "Nya" and "Myuu"... but I think Kitsune would make it rly cute)
Jayven: Amree Takahara(Jayven is based on an IRL friend and Amree's natural voice sounds a lot like her.)
Seiji: NO IDEA. Seiji is a muy important role b/c he's my character's love interest~. And I really don't know who would play him.
Willow: Fanie. (Willow MUST be able to sing. ^^)
Kenji: Seiyru (Voice AND personality-wise, a perfect Kenji.)
Hanato: Renken (It would just work.)
Soushi: Fruitfly (Soushi's a boy. But fruifly would do well I think~)
Iris: Mystic River (Iris is in her 20's. I've never heard MysticRiver do an adult before but I think it'd sound nice.)

Hmm the others are more minor characters that I haven't thought much about. ^^;

TamTu once sang a song originally done by Koyasu Takehito, and I thought he did an amazingly wonderful job. Also, having heard both the Japanese and English versions, I think he could find a really happy medium with the voice, and give the role the best acting it deserves. Yoji: Matt Alan
Going for a personality match here. Yoji loves the ladies and Matt loves.. everything that walks on two legs. They're both quite flirtatious and there's this air of confidence about them when it comes to hitting on people. x.x Matt could definitely pull this role off. Ken: YdocNameloc
I had a hard time coming up with an actor for this character, but I remembered listening to Cody's demo the other day and I heard this voice come out that I hadn't heard before. It sounded very young-adult-ish [Despite the fact that he is one. >D], but mature enough to be able to pull off this particular character. I think he could really put a lot into Ken's character.Omi: Kei.
Kei has a really youthful, spirited voice that I think would suit Omi very well, as the character is a cheerful, optimistic and very spirited person. I think Kei could bring the type of innocence to the character that the young boy in the show has.

Kritiker

Persia: Edwyn.
I know Edwyn said he'd make a perfect Crawford, but I'd have to disagree. I can totally picture Edwyn's voice eminating from the mysterious man behind the video screen. Manx: Nikki Wright.
I don't sound like Manx at all. This is just one of my favorite series and I've always wanted to be in a WK production, but I don't produce and no one else seems to produce these things, so, oh well. Anyway, my reason for this choice? There's no way in hell I'm playing the other girls: Most of them annoy me. >DBurman: Nanuri.
Magali doesn't voice act much, if at all, anymore, but.. I really think that Magali can be bitchy enough to pull off the role, yet have the charisma to pull off the chemistry with the rest of the cast.

Schwarz

Crawford: Tom
Tom has this low, narration-esque voice that he's known for, and I know that it has this weird "whoa" effect on a lot of people, because it's just so good, and you don't expect that voice to come out of him. In using that, as well as his skills with voice acting, I think he'd be able to pull off Crawford rather well.
Schuldig: CNagy
Another person who doesn't voice act anymore. Schuldig's an incredibly evil, manipulative yet calm, person. I think Chris' voice is perfect for the calm, low tone that this villain has to him. Also, I think Chris could pull off the villain-thing. Besides, Chris likes messing with people's heads, and so does Schuldig. :P
Farfarello: Lucien
This character is immensely, immensely insane. I can't think of anyone better to play the mentally unstable Farfarello than Lucien. He wouldn't hold back with the laughter and screams and when casting for this character, you have to look for that. No one's better for the role.
Nagi: Wicked5
Nagi's difficult to cast because, in a lot of ways, he's just like Omi. Young, possesses a youthful, innocent spirit but.. on the same side, he's an evil, manipulative little bastard. Finding a young enough sounding voice, that wasn't really.. young per se, but had a slight air of maturity to it was difficult. I was listening to Wicked5's demo and determined that he could potentially pull it off. Just have to work out some of his quality issues. :P

Schrient

Hell: Amby Leigh
Amby has a very strong voice, and Hell, for her, would be an excellent role. Amby could definitely give the character the commanding tone that is needed to fit the character, while at the same time, being delicately compassionate when it comes to softer situations. Schöen: Nikki Jones
Having heard Nikki in a variety of different things, I know she could fit a lot of the girls in Schrient, but I want to place her as Schöen because I really like that low, slightly seductive voice she uses. It would work well for this as the character's a gorgeous, yet vain model.Neu: Jenna
Neu is a conniving little fox. Her alliances lie with one team, while, at one point, she pretends to work for the other. I think Jenna would be able to pull off the really sly, bitchy yet unsure and pained range that this character has. Tot: Christina
Tot is an interesting character. She's a young woman, but she acts, and sounds, as if she's 5. Christina has this ability to sound very child-like with some of the voices that she does, while not sounding strained and all while managing to keep up her awesome voice over work. She'd do excellently with this role.

Eszet

Reiji Takatori: ClymAngus
HEre's a guy that doesn't voice act very much, which is surprising considering his skills and talents as a voice actor. He is capable of pulling off a really deep, scruffy voice that just screams "Evil." I think he would do nothing less than surpass my expectations for this character. Hirofumi Takatori: Sparf
Unfortunately, I haven't had the pleasure of hearing Sparf perform in roles such as this [Although I am quite sure he has]. In spite of this, I believe that Sparf's style of acting and character portrayal would suit Hirofumi and breathe new life into the character. Masafumi Takatori: Lioncourt
Lioncourt's harsh, scruffy voices are perfect for the role of Masafumi. He's excellent with any type of range you throw at him, and I know that he'll pull off one of the angry Takatori family members quite well.

Miscellaneous important girls

Aya-chan: Sapphira
Yet another person who doesn't voice act anymore, which is an awful atrocity. Aya doesn't speak for a large part of the series, but for a really good reason. However, when she does speak, she has a sweet voice befitting a 16 year old. I think Sapphy could really bring some life to this role, if she were to use a slightly lower tone to her already adorable voice. :DSakura: Kat Avery
Kat has one of the cutest voices I've ever heard and, while I don't particularly like Sakura as a character, I can't deny that she has an adorable voice. With Kat's acting skills to match her voice, the character could really become likeable. Ouka: Rika
Rika has quite a range on her, one that I'm very jealous of. I placed Rika as this character because she would be really well for it. Her slightly higher voices are very sweet, and Ouka has a sweet, naive sounding voice. Rika's emotional range could definitely give the character something more.

Not to High, Not to low. When I picture your voice I picture a happy medium between the two pitches and I really think the blend could help wiht Ryu's image. He doesn't have many lines in the game >D; but if he did there would be some screaming roles. I'd like to see how far you could really go with the character.

Bow-Lucien

Your range is so GREAT, and I know the minute you'd see this character you'd think of a good voice for him and even now ideas for his voice cover my mind and all of them are varies of your own voice. Seriously, this silly yet tragically flawed character can be played by no one better.

Nina-Katie

Nina is sweet but VERY serious. I can honestly see with your breathy voice (i.e: Beldandy) With a lil more 'i dont give a shit' sound you wold make a beautiful Nina! Your crying would be particularly useful.

Katt- Haushinka

Fiery Red Head, your specialty? With the ability to be hardcore angry(Asuka) and hardcore sad (Sakura when Sasuke leaves) the next minute you would be an EXCELLENT Katt. Theres no really explaining it any further ^.^; You can also deepen your voice to a Faye like depth which may be needed when transforming into her Shaman Form.

Rand- Tony/Oriculum

Your voice would be awesome for Rand. It has the deepness to show his big body but also the ability to show a soft side of him which is definently needed
for the more serious scenes.

Jean- Matt Alan

The french Frog >D;;; Matt is usually cast as guys with deep voices so this would be a lil lower than his usual characters which I think is good for him. I definently think Matt can pull of his silly-ness. Nothing much else to say.

Spar- Haku/Kei

Ya okay, Shameless Self-cast. But I really think I could pull of this character. In his normal form he is a soft spoken, 5'11 , kind and gentle man of the earth a voice in which I know I can pull off, plus his Shaman Forms: Peach, Flower and SnapDragon would be an awesome challenge for me. High voices in which I rarely do: I could use the voice I used for a TOAD in Akkie's Super Mario thing. For Flower I can practice my Girl voices and for SnapDragon I could actually attempt a deeper voice.

Bleu- Christina

Your deepish voice would be good for this character and I would like to hear you go from Tidus to more of a Seymour voice if you know what I mean? Make it a lil more creepier that your usual 'HERO YAY' voice.

I've been in a great many productions and have been an active member of the VA community for about seven years as many of the board members will testify. You can download my demo to see what I sound like if you want. I've not been posting much because I am working on my thesis. Why I am even bothering to explain this to you is beyond me. Obviously you don't download many radioplays or the ones you do download are anime based which is something I avoid.

And to say that "Every single person on the board has a talent for voice acting" is just simply not true. It would be lovely if it was, but it isn't.

Here is my Azumanga Daioh Castlist~

Chiyo- Keruri Aohoshi: For this character, I think it's critical that someone closer to Chiyo's age play the character. You haven't been in much yet, but I can tell you have that childish charm/innocence in your voice that's ideal for Chiyo.

Tomo- Me.: I like playing this character. Because of her vocal range, I don't have to change my voice at all which makes acting these high energy characters easier, I think.

Sakaki- Margo-kun: Your lower pitched voices are wonderful and sound so natural, which is why I think you'd make a great Sakaki. :D.

Yomi- Stacy: I just really like your voice. :O

Osaka-Rikka: Who else? XD. You played her once for me, and I've never heard anyone do better. You put the English voice actress to shame!

I have to agree that the statements were really uncalled for. I understand how you feel, Jenna, as we talked about this yesterday, but there really wasn't a need to take it quite so far. I mean, you and I agreed the thread was silly, but that's exactly why it's in the non-sensical forum. I mean, yeah, a lot of people are posting the same few people over and over again, but what everyone has to realize is: This thread is not serious.

Everyone who has complained to me? I know it's frustrating, but it's a really, really, incredibly stupid game that, if you don't like, you should just ignore because it is just a game. Obviously, most people aren't looking at who would be perfect for the part, if they've already admitted to casting their 'friends' over and over. Games, and life, aren't always fair, unfortunately, and we all have to deal with that.

On the same token, in response to the mention that I've gotten complaints, people have said "well, there's a role for everyone!" or "we're just posting our friends!" ..Well, to take on the first part: Then why not give roles to everyone? I was seeing, mostly, the same four or five people being listed everytime, sometimes more than once. If there's a role for everyone, why cast LinkNZelda1057 as three roles in one cast? Obviously, there isn't a role for everyone if you have to resort to triple casting a single person in your "dream castlist."

To take on the second point: I won't say who's been complaining, because I don't want people going "omg why were you complaining wtf?" ..So I'm just going to use myself as an example: I wasn't posted a single time in that "AVA Who would be the best voice for this character!" game, yet I'm friends with several of you people. Now I don't care, at all, but I do care about those who are feeling left out and such. Feeling like that is the way it's been for a lot of others. And some people think, "Well, I shouldn't have to be friends with someone to recognize the fact that I am a talented voice actor."... it's just seemed immensely unfair to people. These reasons are why I really don't like threads like this being started, as people's feelings get hurt, even if it is a stupid game.

And, I'm really sorry, but before people get into pissing contests with each other about whatever it is they like or don't like about this person or that person or whatever, I'm locking this thread. I just don't want to deal with anymore "omg, I'm not getting cast," or any other sort of drama.
