View Full Version : Possible bug?

I don't know if perhaps it's just me, but for some reason, whenever I visit the main page here at the forum, Adobe Acrobat Reader loads up. Or, rather, it appears to load, but then the program doesn't come up and Acrord32 appears in my list of programs when I press ctrl-alt-delete to close it again.

Any idea what's going on?

Hmm. I've received no complaints from others and I, myself, have not had that problem.

:;shrugs:: Maybe the other admins have heard something.

Check your adobe acrobat settings it's possible at some ponit you've set it to be the default reader for certain image file on the site.

Same with me! XD

Margo, love, when did it start for you? In my case, it's only been going for a couple of days.

Even if we're currently a bit puzzled, I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of this. ^^

It has been the same for me. Adobe Acrobat is NOT the default reader for my images either. I.E. is. I made sure that I checked all that.

Can those of you with this problem please post your system info? I need browser, operating system, and anything else you think is relevant. Thank you.

I'm on Windows 98, using Internet Explorer 6. I'm also on a 56k connection provided by Breathe, which is a division of Tiscali.

Oh, wait, it came back...

I don't know much about computers, so all I can say is that I have Windows XP, and I'm using Internet Explorer... ^^;;

Yeah, this happens to me all the time, but the Adobe thing only pops up for a split second, then dissappears, so it's all fine.

But I'm using Windows XP SP 2, Internet Explorer 6, plus I built my own machine, so I can give you specs if you need. ^_^

I have Windows XP: Professional and I use I.E. 6.0. I am not really sure of anything else as I don't pay attention to that sort of thing for my compy. I should know... so anything else you need me to find out I will!

Doesn't happen at home, but I'm on a friend's laptop currently, and it just happened.

Windows 98, IE 6, 56K Comcast.

Nothing wrong with my computer.

But then again, it could be that we admins are finally setting our plans for world domination in motion with the help of ADOBE, starting with hacking your computers.

Those unaffected by this will be part of our new world order.

And that's all you're going to say about that. Otherwise, it'll be sofa-city when we get our own place. >D

It fixed itself on me. I have Adobe... but it never opens for me... I might have deleted it though. Only problem is my computer makes the site down for me only. Used to that is.

Well, if it's of any help to you folks who are also affected by this, I've found that if you use Firefox, the Adobe thing doesn't come up. It's only on Internet Explorer that this happens.

Ergo, everybody should switch to Firefox. XD
