This summer, Dirk Maggs will be unveiling his pod-casting production company Mostly Harmless, and it's looking as if he would be willing to grant the VAA an interview. In the interest of getting the most relevant questions to put to him, I'd like to throw this open to the entire membership. So what would you the members like to ask one of the best and best- known UK radio producers of our time?
Note: In case some of you are not familiar with his work, a resume of his various works can be found on this site created by David Williams; http://www.dirkmaggs.dswilliams.co.uk/
...and also at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirk_Maggs
We have also been granted access to Mostly Harmless' technical expert Paul Weir, who has carved an extensive professional career for himself in music production and in foley effects for the games industry.
As an artist who's well aware of technically limiting factors of specific digital media, this is a great opportunity to ask insightful questions and gain information about the industry from one of its leading professionals.
If you want to find out more about Paul, you can go to the following website:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Weir
...and also http://www.earcom.net/index.html
I'm hoping to conduct the interviews in late April early May so you have a bit of time to think about it. It would be cool if we could keep the questions relevant, without going over old ground. To that end, it is advisable to look up some previous web-based interviews while thinking about possible questions. If you do come up with something that's already been asked then I'll happily redirect you to the reply, as a lot of his previous interviews have been web documented.
This is something of a rare opportunity, so yeah, any questions?
The deadline for questions for both of these interviews, which will be conducted separately, is March 28th.
