RPG Maker/Machinima - Are Original, unless your production takes place in a licensed/copy-righted universe. Posting a unique JRPG? Original. Posting your unique Final Fantasy adventure? Fan. Using the Sims2 engine to create a unique production? Original. Calling its a Sims2 Story and setting it in the Sims Universe? Fan.

Abridged Series - Fan. No exceptions. It does not matter how unique or witty the dialogue is, it is fan by its very nature.

There is no room for discussion/compromise on the definitions of original/fan. These are final.

The VAA Administration and Moderators will be moving any misplaced threads. If you have any questions as to if your production is original/fan, please send a PM to Matt Alan.

A few things here everyone.

1. If you feel you are being harassed by members of this community, via PMs, profile messages, or posts on the forums, save the proof, and PM it to a member of the Community Staff: Matt Alan, Erica, Nikki Wright.

2. Many people have asked about punishment for those who break the rules and what sort of punishment should be merited. We feel we have come up with a fair system here. First time offense, you'll receive a friendly, but stern PM from a member of staff, informing you that you have violated a forum rule, or your behavior has warranted enough attention/reported posts that members have come to the staff to complain. After the warning has been issued, if the offense continues, a seven day temp ban will be put in place. If the problem is still not resolved upon the users' return, a permanent ban will be considered.

Of course there are exceptions for extreme behavior which will result in an automatic ban, such as: threatening physical violence, criminal acts, or the posting of pornography.

Every warning issued by staff will include a statement stating if you feel the warning was unfairly given, you have the chance to plead your case. However, keep in mind that warnings are issued because there has been proof gathered of misbehavior.

3. You may have noticed in the lower left hand corner of posts on the board, or in the lower right hand corner of posts on your profile page, that you have the ability to Report that post. If you feel a post is offensive, we encourage you to report it. If you feel uncomfortable for any reason about reporting a post, I ask you to private message myself, or another member of the Community Section of the staff: Erica, Nikki Wright. Whether you choose to report a post, or contact one of us personally, your conversation is private.

Also, if you see a spambot, PLEASE, report it. Spambots come in all shapes and sizes, whether they're trying to share porn with us, or inform us about new, and exciting vacation spots! Easy ways to spot them is: if they have between one to three posts, have only registered that day, use poor grammar or have suspicious link in their signature. They also tend to post their spam in threads that have nothing to do with the posts they've made.

Spambots are getting smarter these days and sometimes have their own little back story when they introduce themselves to you. If you're unsure, please contact a member of staff and let us sort it out.

We may not always catch an offensive post as soon as its posted, the quickest way for us to find out if the rules are being violated, is if the posts (or threads) are Reported to us.

What about past behavior?

From this moment forward, 1:13am CST on February 16, 2010, there have currently been no reported posts or statements of harassment. Clean slate right now guys.
